Free Web 2.0 Tools to Enhance Teaching and Learning

July 24, 2012

The “read only” Web has been replaced with the “read/write” Web and with it have come some amazing Web-based technology tools. Known as Web 2.0 tools, they provide educators with free or low cost instructional resources that open up a whole new world for teaching and learning. Spend the day exploring such tools as Animoto or Masher to create online presentations, Delicious to create online bookmarks and share them with colleagues and students, Google Docs to create collaborative online files and forms, Wordle to design beautiful word clouds, Wall Wisher or Linoit to create a bulletin board for electronic post-it notes, and more. Develop plans to integrate these technology tools into your teaching and your students’ learning. See how Web 2.0 technology tools can be used to teach for rigor and mastery of the Common Core State Standards. You’ll be amazed at the possibilities!
